Dreamhaven Publishing is looking for a Director of Operations to ensure our cross discipline, global publishing team can effectively move products and features through their respective development cycles and out to players. At Dreamhaven, we're building a new game company based on our shared values and relentless passion for making meaningful player experiences. This role will ensure that the needs of the players, the direction of the publishing business, the health of the team and the critical elements of its products are all working successfully together.

As a Director of Operations, you will help organize and ship our global publishing platform and services. You will work closely alongside our studio managers and publishing leadership to ensure our project teams are prepared to launch and market our games and support players. This role will serve as a member of the Publishing leadership team and reports directly to the Head of Global Publishing - overseeing production and operations for all things publishing.


Responsibilities

  • Work with publishing leadership to develop and execute the operational strategy for our cross-discipline, global team
  • Develop the work systems for our team, including functional team structure, whether and how they report status to company leadership, how multi-team work is coordinated
  • Work with the team to build roadmaps, deconstruct and organize work, and prioritize our efforts to manage risk
  • Evolve work systems continuously to meet changing dynamics with new teams and team members as the company grows
  • Ensure that our team: maintains a healthy culture, creates and maintains a place of psychological safety, celebrates our wins, and encourages healthy discussion throughout our journey
  • Develop accountability practices where teams review their commitments and hold each other accountable, celebrate successes, and learn from failures
  • Develop systems to ensure problems with delivery are regularly and quickly diagnosed and addressed
  • Ensure stakeholders and customers are always up-to-date on what’s going on in terms of what commitments have been made and how the delivery is going
  • Understand the capabilities of the publishing team and how those map to its strategies in order to plan for current work and future needs
  • Manage and resolve any conflicts within and between teams effectively and empathetically
  • Oversee and cultivate co-development relationships


Required Qualifications

  • Proven production experience in a dynamic professional environment such as games, tech, entertainment/media, etc.
  • Shipped multiple AAA games in a leadership capacity
  • Experience with various development methodologies and their applications (e.g. Agile software development, Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Deep knowledge of games, relevant gaming audiences, and the gaming industry
  • Experience leading and functioning in ambiguous, collaborative environments with team members of several levels and disciplines
  • Experience maintaining excellent relationships with stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability in project management and using prioritization schemes
  • Experience translating business vision into operating strategy and organization design
  • Previous experience managing a co-development or outsourcing relationship
  • Served in a leadership capacity providing "games as a service"


The base salary range for this position is $146,090 to $243,484 USD per year, which is associated with our Level 5 salary band. The range listed for this position is just one component of Dreamhaven’s total compensation package for team members and exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience. Total compensation also includes equity, comprehensive benefits and will also include profit sharing in the future.
