Applications Open for Dreamhaven | GGP Scholarship Program 2025

July 24, 2025

Empowering LGBTQ+ game developers through mentorship and scholarships—apply now through August 29 for a chance to participate!

For the past four years, Dreamhaven has partnered with Gay Gaming Professionals (GGP) to provide $5,000 scholarships to deserving community-oriented LGBTQ+ game development students who show exceptional promise as future game developers. We’re excited to be working with them again this year—applications are open from today through Friday, August 29.

Inside the Mentorship

One of the unique aspects of our scholarship program is the mentorship it offers. Scholars are paired with Dreamhaven developers who align with their interests and needs, providing an unparalleled opportunity to gain insights into their chosen discipline, explore various facets of game development, and understand the intricacies of studio operations.

Based on the experiences of previous scholars, the mentorship component of the scholarship can have a profound impact. From learning the nuances of effective level design to navigating the unique expectations and culture of the games industry, our scholars have gained invaluable knowledge and connections.

Looking Ahead to Year Five

Reflecting on our journey with past scholars, we are filled with gratitude and anticipation as we prepare to welcome the next group of exceptional applicants for the 2025–2026 school year. This scholarship program not only offers financial assistance but also cultivates a nurturing community and encourages professional development through mentorship.

For more information and to apply, visit the GGP application site. If you wish to be paired with Dreamhaven developers as part of your scholarship, remember to mark the interest box on the application form. The application deadline is August 29 at 11:59 p.m. PDT, and the recipients will be announced in September. We eagerly await the fresh and diverse perspectives that the upcoming generation of game developers will bring to the industry.
