As we continue to make progress working on our first games, we also want to do some good in the world, starting in our own backyard. We’re excited to share that Dreamhaven is participating in Children’s Hospital of Orange County’s 30th Annual CHOC Walk.
We believe the global community of gamers can be a force for good, so we’re also sharing this fundraising opportunity with our friends, family, and the larger gaming community. Anyone who wants to help contribute to this great cause can easily do so, so please join us!
What is CHOC Walk?
The CHOC Walk in the Park brings the community together for one single goal – to raise funds for health care programs, education, and research for Southern California’s kids. The event has brought together over 100,000 participants to show their support by walking millions of miles at Disneyland, and in doing so, raise over $37 million for CHOC. To continue building on this legacy while protecting the health and safety of our community, this year’s walk will take place virtually.
How can I get involved?
Anyone can get involved, in three ways:
1. Join our team! Register as a team member on the Friends of Dreamhaven page on CHOC's website. This will enable you to fundraise on our behalf, and team members who raise over $50 will receive a Benefit Bundle, including a CHOC Walk t-shirt and access to the virtual event in March 2021. In addition, Dreamhaven will offer other perks, including Dreamhaven sweatshirts, and a private virtual dinner with founders Mike & Amy Morhaime for the top fundraiser.
2. Donate directly to the Friends of Dreamhaven or through any member on the Dreamhaven team. Simply click any member’s name and select the “Donate” option.
Dreamhaven founders Mike & Amy Morhaime are also matching the first $20,000 raised by the Friends of Dreamhaven team, so every dollar counts!
3. Help us spread the word on your favorite social channels. Here are some links:
As we close out 2020, we want to say thank you again for such a positive reaction to Dreamhaven’s announcement this year. We’re so grateful that we’re able to pursue our passions and continue to create games. It’s been a tough year for many, but we’re reminded that when we come together and help each other, even small gestures can help have a positive impact.
