We are so excited to announce that the Sunderfolk Free Trial is part of our Patch 1.3 update that shipped last week! If you or your friends want to suss out the vibes first to see if Sunderfolk is for you, you can now try it for free.
The Sunderfolk Trial will be available for Steam, Playstation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Please note: The Sunderfolk Trial will not be available on the Nintendo Switch.
The Xbox Series X|S version will receive the Trial update at a later date. We apologize for this inconvenience!
Sunderfolk Free Trial Features:
- Play the first 4 missions in Sunderfolk.
- Choose from the entire roster of Sunderfolk heroes.
- You choose how Act 1 begins—pick your fourth mission!
- Continue from your save point if you purchase Sunderfolk after completing the Trial.

- Will my save rollover if I purchase Sunderfolk after playing the Trial?
- Yes! You’ll continue as if you’ve always had Sunderfolk in your library (and heart).
- Are all of the Sunderfolk characters available to play in the Trial?
- Yes! You’ll have access to EVERYTHING that’s available for the first 4 missions in Sunderfolk!
- What languages are available in the Sunderfolk Free Trial?
- All languages that are supported in the main game will have Trial versions! The full list of languages are English, French, German, Italian, Spanish (Spain), Polish, Portuguese (Brazil) and Chinese (Simplified).
- Do I still need a phone or tablet to play the Trial version?
- Yes, in order to play Sunderfolk, you’ll need to use the free Sunderfolk Controller app from either the Google Play Store or App Store.
- Can I still play the Sunderfolk Trial with friends, even remotely?
- Yes! The Sunderfolk Trial will function as if you have full access to the game until you reach the 4 total missions! This includes playing with others, via couch co-op or remote play!

- Do I need to get a different version of the game if I played the Trial and liked it?
- Nope! All you have to do is purchase the game and it’ll be yours, and the time played will continue as if you’ve always owned it.
